Amateur Radio
My current AM station as of July, 2024.

Desk top:  Johnson Viking Valiant.  

First shelf:  Johnson Viking 500#1 (the power supply/modulator unit rests on a furniture dolly on the floor).    Hammarlund SP-600 receiver JX-17.  (Not shown, Collins 75A-4 Receiver inline August, 2024)

Second Shelf: Daiwa watt meter, Dentron MT-3000A tuner, Heathkit SB-614 station monitor, Siglent digital signal generator (1 Hz to 40 MHz).
On the tubular tower are antennas for weak signal work on 2 meter, 70 centimeter and 23 centimeter bands.  A dipole serves the HF bands.


Station in 2007.  

HF through 6 Meters:  Icom 756 Pro-III.   Amplifier is Drake L-4B.
2 meters and 432: Icom 706 MkIIG.  Amplifier for 2 meters is AM-6155; 500 watts using a Svetlana GS-36B tube.
Bencher paddles for CW.

The kerosene lamp is a 1940's Aladdin Washington Drape.  Aladdin lamps use thoriated mantles toproduce a brillaint, white light.
